I am a bit confuse about this PQWL in wait list ticket. Its moving very slowly compare to the general movement of GNWL. I would like to ask the experts the following about waiting list ticket of railways- 1. Posted By: [Anonymous]. PQWL, it is just subject to a particular source of departure and destination.
For example, a train is from Mumbai to Bangalore via Solapur junction. Useful: 4. PQ is starting to end station quota, different from General quota, used to allot intermediate station passengers, preconfigured in system, which are not considered for GN, RS and RL quotas. This is to "benefit" long distance passengers and "restrict" too many short distance passengers to "limited" berths under PQ. As another example, the Andhra Pradesh Exp.
Pooled Quotas normally operate only from the originating station of a route, and there is only one Pooled Quota for the entire run. Thanks: 1. Useful: 2. There is also a pooled quota for passengers travelling from Secunderabad to stations beyond Bhopal but short of Jhansi. If this quota is exhausted, a passenger is placed in the pooled quota waiting list.
The Pooled Quota is Such remote location quotas are also provided when there is a very strong demand for the train in question, because of which, without such additional quotas, all seats or berths might be fully consumed by passengers from the originating station leaving nothing available for those wishing to travel from intermediate points. Passengers in the Pooled Quota Waiting List are cleared against the vacancies in the earmarked Pooled Quota only, or against General Quota vacancies available at the time of charting.
So what is the net effect?? A passenger with a PQWL mostly from starting staion should be having more chances of confirmation or the one with GNWL from the same staion, and same waiting list.. Am i right in this view?? Thanks: 2. Useful: 1. They are not assigned to same set of stations i. Lets say a train starts from A and go to D via B and C. It has 10 seats. Of which 7 is general and 3 dedicated seats PQ for intermediate station.
Now, consider all 10 seats are full. Now my PQWL 1 gets So now you decide which one stands more chance. I will give my own experience to add to your information regarding WL situation and Availability situation in same train , same day when 'from' stations' were different. As I tried to book ticket from Ahmedabad, it showed 'waiting list' But when I searched from Rajkot, it showed awailable. Question Here question is can one book ticket from Rajkot to Jabalpur as journey ticket, but to board from Ahmedabad.
This may sound waste of money for passenger, but I want to avoid travelling upto Rajokor from my native, as I find journey from my native place to Rajkot to Ahmedabad becomes longer than if I go directly to Ahmedabad. Yes, your ticket is confirmed. PQWL means pooled quota wating list, and after preparation of Chart if same status is there it means that your berth is not confirm and if it is E ticket you cannot board the train as refund of the same is credited in your account and in case it is purchased across the counter you can travel in general compartment.
Is there any chance of confirmation? Please do not board the train under any circumstances if you have a fully waitlisted e-ticket. It gets automatically cancelled on chart preparation and passenger is treated as traveling without ticket in such cases. Yes, waiting list and RAC tickets of both general and tatkal quota can always be cancelled.
With the demand for train tickets increasing, the Indian Railways is working on to ensure all wait-listed ticket holders get confirmed seats. Due to Covid protocol Railways is only allowing confirmed ticket holders to travel and wait-listed passengers are not allowed to enter the station. RAC ticket gets confirmed first followed by waiting list tickets. Railway issues limited RAC seats based on station quota. Once RAC is issued for those seats and the limit is exhausted, Railway starts issuing waiting list ticket.
According to the Indian Railways new train ticket booking rule, if you are unable to get a confirmed ticket you can book a waitlisted ticket. However, while booking a wait-listed ticket during the IRCTC ticket booking process, you must check the limit allowed on the train for such a ticket.
